In chronic disease, cell to cell communication is blocked. Mitochondria was once thought to only produce energy, but research has shown that it helps in cell defense and healing. This includes communication, immunity, inflammation control, metabolic, memory, and cell signaling networks.
Functional medicine allows us to unblock those communications and restore cells properly. And when healing is stuck we need to shift our focus to the healing cycle in the mitochondria Instead of focusing on the triggers of a disease at that time in order to progress towards restored health.
